About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide crisis intervention and behavior management to support student learning
- Deliver one-on-one or group counseling to students and families
- Develop and implement curriculum for social and emotional development
- Conduct needs-assessments to identify student and family resources
- Manage referrals for social services and special education
- Coordinate family-engagement activities including workshops and home visits
- Collaborate with teachers and staff on professional development and school-wide activities
- Maintain student records and compliance documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Proven track record of high achievement
- Experience working in urban schools preferred
- For NYC roles: NYS certification as School Counselor, LMSW, or LCSW
- For NJ roles: Master's degree in Social Work and valid School Social Worker Endorsement
