Social Worker

Responsibilities

• Provide professional social work support within County programs, including adult services and family enrichment.
• Assist clients with challenges involving basic needs such as food, shelter, transportation, employment, and education.
• Conduct interviews to assess clients' financial resources, personal history, and eligibility for social services.
• Develop and implement individualized service plans to meet client needs and assess their effectiveness.
• Perform home visits to evaluate living conditions and provide on-site guidance and support.
• Coordinate referrals to external social service agencies and collaborate with community partners.
• Maintain detailed, compliant case records and provide comprehensive reports on client outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
• Two years of professional social work experience.
• Valid State of Iowa driver's license.
• Ability to travel in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

• Multi-lingual skills are preferred depending on the specific assignment.
