Social Worker

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain organized systems for professional documentation of services and referrals
• Complete documentation, progress notes, and reports required by state, local, and federal mandates
• Create intervention plans and ambitious goals for students requiring behavioral or academic support
• Measure the impact of counseling services through data tracking
• Provide individualized and group counseling services to students
• Build strong relationships with families to support student growth
• Manage child abuse reporting and support mandated reporting
• Coordinate with outside providers to help families access community resources
• Conduct home and community visits as needed
• Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement social emotional learning programs
• Participate in staff meetings and school-wide events

Requirements

• Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in New York
• Experience serving as a social worker for school-aged children
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work well on a multidisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
• Knowledge or experience in multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS)
• Experience in an urban school setting
