Social Media Manager

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a cohesive social media strategy for Sightline Media Group and Sunset Publishing
• Manage and grow official accounts across X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok
• Maintain a robust content calendar for consistent and strategic posting
• Manage paid social media campaigns including targeting and budget stewardship
• Produce and edit platform-specific content including short-form video, images, and infographics
• Collaborate with editorial and marketing teams to amplify priority stories
• Track and analyze performance metrics to optimize content and inform strategy
• Monitor social channels for breaking news and engage with the online community

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
• 3–5 years of professional social media management experience, preferably in news or tech media
• Proven success in driving measurable growth and engagement across multiple platforms
• Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills
• Proficiency with social media management and analytics tools like Sprout Social or Hootsuite
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven newsroom environment
• Strong understanding of business, technology, or defense sectors

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro
• Proficiency with graphic design tools like Canva or Adobe Photoshop
