About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage all marketing and social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, and Campus Connection) for ICC yearly events and monthly programming
- Create engaging social media video content, including Instagram Reels and Stories
- Execute marketing plans and set up promotional opportunities such as tabling and flyering
- Collaborate with the intern team to design graphics, logos, and visual assets for events
- Support large-scale campus events like Maize & Blue Days and the Intercultural Cookout
- Participate in regular staff meetings, training, and office functions
- Meet bi-weekly with a supervisor to balance academic and professional obligations
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a full-time UM Flint student in good academic standing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Publisher, Excel, etc.)
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter or effectively within a team
- Passion for community involvement, social justice, and building campus relationships
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in programming, promotion, marketing, or event planning
- Proficiency with Canva and other digital content creation platforms
- Academic interest in higher education, multicultural affairs, social justice, advertising, or communications
