SOC Debug Tools Validation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the multi-functional validation of AMD Silicon Debug Tools products from pre-silicon architecture to post-silicon implementation
• Create, execute, and manage comprehensive test strategies and test plans
• Lead quality assurance tasks and drive the resolution of technical dependencies and debug issues to closure
• Design and develop test cases for new or existing product features and extract test cases from bug reports
• Develop and use test tools, automation scripts, and frameworks for product testing
• Maintain the test harness and lab infrastructure, including setting up and troubleshooting hardware and software environments
• Analyze test results, create bug failure reports, and validate bug fixes with stakeholders
• Act as a technical mentor and leader, providing guidance to the team and driving tasks to completion

Requirements

• MS / M Tech / BE in Electronics and Communication or Computer Engineering
• Minimum of 6+ years of relevant work experience
• Strong knowledge of computer architecture and microprocessors
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Ruby, Perl, or Python
• Experience with hardware platforms and their associated software/firmware ecosystems
• Understanding of JTAG 1149.x and BMC (Baseboard Management Controller)
• Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with x86 Debug Tools and DFT (Design for Testability)
• Experience with test automation tools and functional/regression testing of web, desktop apps, and Service APIs
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems
• Experience configuring virtual machines and assembling complex systems
• Knowledge of coverage tools, security testing, performance, and API testing techniques
