SOC Analyst - Tier 1

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous 24x7 monitoring of customer and enterprise security environments through shift-based operations
• Monitor and analyze security events from SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, Firewalls, and Cloud security platforms
• Perform initial event validation, classification, and prioritization of security alerts
• Create and manage incident tickets and escalate validated incidents to Tier 2 teams
• Utilize SIEM platforms to execute searches, queries, and support basic investigations
• Maintain accurate records of investigations and participate in shift handovers
• Follow approved SOC procedures, playbooks, and operational standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or intermediate diploma from a recognized institution
• At least 6 months of practical cybersecurity experience
• Valid NCSC-approved SOC certification (e.g., CSA, GSOC, GCIA, CTIA, Blue Team Level 1, or Cisco CyberOps Associate)
• Familiarity with SIEM consoles, alert triage, and SOC monitoring workflows
• Willingness to work rotating shifts
• Foundational networking and operating-system knowledge
