SMT Technician

Responsibilities

• Operate SMT assembly equipment including placement machines, reflow ovens, solder printers, and conformal coating machines
• Program, load, operate, and troubleshoot automated equipment
• Use light tools such as crimpers, presses, soldering irons, and custom tooling
• Follow work instructions and document work through MES system
• Inspect assemblies for defects and document non-conformances
• Perform functional testing of components and assemblies
• Provide process improvement feedback to engineering and production leadership

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in a hands-on manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and follow work instructions
• Proficiency with hand tools including torque wrenches
• Experience with crimping, wire stripping, and continuity testing
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks

Preferred Qualifications

• Hand soldering ability and PCB rework experience
• Ability to read and redline electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Experience with test and measuring tools like digital multimeters and oscilloscopes
• Experience with various potting and epoxies
