SMT Process Engineer

Responsibilities

• Establish technical manuals, drawings, models, training documentation, and troubleshooting guides for automated SMT equipment
• Develop and modify machine programs for SPI, Reflow, AOI, and Pick & Place
• Drive yield, quality, and line performance improvements through structured problem solving and root cause investigations
• Oversee NPI readiness, including DFM, tooling, documentation, and production ramp
• Ensure process control and compliance with IPC A 610 and J STD 001 standards
• Partner with Operations and Quality teams to improve KPIs such as FPY, DPMO, OEE, and scrap
• Implement statistical process research and continuous improvement projects to enhance manufacturing throughput

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ME, EE, MfgE, IE, or related field)
• 3 years of PCBA process engineering experience with strong SMT and soldering expertise
• Familiarity with Lean/CI, PFMEA, SPC, and DOE methodologies
• Experience with advanced PCBA technology, including fine pitch and micro components
• Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt or Black Belt)
• Experience with MES or digital manufacturing tools

Preferred Qualifications

• NPI leadership experience in high-mix or high-volume manufacturing environments
• Strong oral and written communication skills for customer and technical interaction
