SMT Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate automated SMT assembly equipment, including Screen Printers, Glue Dispensing Machines, Pick and Place Machines, and Reflow Ovens
• Adjust machine speed, temperature, and other settings to accommodate varying product types and sizes
• Perform basic soldering and rework of SMT components (Flex-provided training included)
• Conduct visual inspections of SMT assemblies and interpret IPC-A-610 standards for acceptability
• Prepare manufacturing kits by picking necessary components
• Maintain accurate job tracking records and ensure a clean, organized work area
• Practice safe work habits and report any unsafe conditions to the supervisor
• Assist in training co-workers and troubleshooting problems as they arise

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Familiarity with Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) electronic components and assembly processes
• Ability to operate automated SMT equipment
• Basic soldering and rework skills
• Strong visual inspection skills
• Ability to use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, and cutters
• Availability to work the 3rd shift (Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in electronics manufacturing
