SMT Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate automated SMT assembly equipment, including Screen Printers, Glue Dispensing Machines, Pick and Place Machines, and Reflow Ovens
• Adjust machine speed, temperature, and other settings to accommodate varying product types and sizes
• Perform basic soldering and rework of SMT components (Flex-provided training included)
• Conduct visual inspections of SMT assemblies and interpret IPC-A-610 standards for acceptability
• Prepare component kits for manufacturing and maintain accurate job tracking records
• Maintain a clean work area and practice safe work habits to ensure quality and quantity standards are met

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Familiarity with Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) electronic components and assembly processes
• Experience operating automated SMT assembly equipment
• Ability to perform visual inspections and basic soldering/rework
• Proficiency with hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, and cutters
• Ability to work the 3rd shift (Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in electronics manufacturing
