SMT Operator Apprentice

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain SMT equipment including screen printers, glue machines, reflow ovens, and placement machines
• Interface with complex machine hardware and software
• Identify and report defective components
• Inspect work to ensure accuracy, integrity, and adherence to workmanship standards
• Follow written and verbal instructions and maintain accurate data logs
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area and ensure accuracy of work-in-process
• Participate in quality teams as required

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrated electronics or mechanical ability
• Basic computer skills
• US Person status (as defined in 22 CFR Part 120.15 for ITAR compliance)
• Ability to work 1st shift (Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm)
• Must be local to the Melbourne, FL area

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in machine or equipment operation
• Knowledge of component identification, nomenclature, and handling (including ESD requirements)
• Knowledge of ISO9001 standards
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, if necessary
