About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop, support, and continuously improve SMT assembly equipment and processes including pick-and-place, reflow ovens, and AOI
  • Optimize reflow profiles, stencil designs, and solder paste processes for high-reliability assemblies
  • Program, operate, and troubleshoot automated SMT equipment and vision systems
  • Collaborate with Quality and Production teams to maintain build cadence
  • Create and maintain work instructions, assembly procedures, and process documentation
  • Develop inspection criteria for non-conformances and functional tests for components
  • Monitor process performance using SPC and provide feedback to leadership
  • Support tooling inspection and maintenance for solar manufacturing operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace, materials, or relevant engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing or hands-on engineering
  • Strong hands-on aptitude for working directly with hardware on the production floor
  • Exposure to precision assembly or electromechanical integration
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Experience setting up manufacturing floors for first article builds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hand soldering ability and PCB rework experience
  • Ability to redline electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Experience with crimping, wire stripping, and continuity testing
  • Proficiency with test and measuring tools like digital multimeters and oscilloscopes
  • Experience with various potting and epoxies
