About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain AI governance frameworks ensuring compliance with ethical, legal, and organizational standards.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential harms, biases, or compliance gaps in AI models and workflows.
- Collaborate with engineering, legal, and mission teams to ensure AI solutions align with governance policies.
- Prepare, maintain, and execute a System Engineering Plan (SEP) for managing systems architecture and engineering aspects.
- Design, document, and maintain APIs and technical standards for the system.
- Build and maintain services to make production-ready AI/ML models accessible for customer use.
- Perform site reliability engineering to maintain a reliable, scalable, and efficient system.
- Participate in the Engineering Control Board (ECB) process to support major engineering milestones.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Engineering, etc.) plus 12–15 years of relevant experience, OR a Master's degree plus 10–13 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems engineering, AI governance, or data governance.
- Experience implementing AI/ML governance or responsible AI frameworks in enterprise environments.
- Proficiency in cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Knowledge of LLMs and agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen).
- Experience with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS).
- Familiarity with containerization and virtualization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, VMware).
Preferred Qualifications
- SAFe Agilist (SA) or related SAFe certification.
- Experience operating within large-scale Agile frameworks supporting enterprise DoD systems.
- Familiarity with NIST security controls and Zero Trust compliance.
- Experience designing safety guardrails and bias-mitigation strategies for autonomous agents.
- Experience with AI service integration such as Azure OpenAI, Bedrock, or GCP Vertex AI.
- Hands-on GPU programming experience using CUDA, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
