About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small group of incoming first-year and transfer students during the Plunge program
  • Attend and actively participate in a two-day leadership training workshop prior to the program
  • Facilitate small group activities and lead reflections throughout the week
  • Travel with student groups to partner agencies via public transportation or Moreau Center vehicles
  • Volunteer alongside students at local community partner agencies
  • Support "behind the scenes" organizational needs as they arise during the program
  • Complete post-program follow-up, including writing thank-you cards and participating in debrief sessions

Requirements

  • Responsible, dependable, and able to take initiative
  • Personable, welcoming, and hospitable demeanor
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work long hours in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to volunteering
  • Demonstrated interest in issues of social justice

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous leadership experience
  • Experience as a camp counselor, youth leader, or orientation leader
  • Commitment to engaging Moreau Center Core Commitments
