About the role
Responsibilities
- Carry out small engine mechanic services to repair and maintain fire season equipment including fire pumps, chainsaws, and generators
- Adhere to safety policies, procedures, and prescribed MNR standards
- Participate in daily safety meetings and complete 'Don't Walk By' forms
- Perform regular PPE inspections and ensure proper usage of all tools and power equipment
- Complete accurate paperwork including timecards, work orders, descriptions, and photos
Requirements
- Experience working with small engines (diesel and gasoline) such as fire pumps, chainsaws, and generators
- Small Engine Technician Certificate or equivalent experience
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Ability to work efficiently under tight timelines with high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on Wajax Mark 3 fire pumps
- First Aid Certification
- Fork Lift Certification
- Valid Ontario Driver's License
- Availability for after-hours, evening, or weekend support
