About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups
- Manage client communication, education, and rapport building
- Maintain accurate medical records and follow controlled substance protocols
- Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations
- Monitor hospital protocols from intake to discharge and attend daily rounds
- Prescribe medications and manage pharmacy duties
Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree from an accredited college or university
- Completion of a 1-year rotational internship
- Completion of a 3-year, AVMA-approved residency program
- Current State Veterinary License and DEA registration
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform moderately physically demanding work
Preferred Qualifications
- Board Certification
- 2-5 years of experience post-residency
- Advanced clinical knowledge in cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, or neurological examinations
- Strong problem-solving and business acumen regarding hospital management
