SLS Materials Scientist

Responsibilities

• Build world-class SLS materials for 3D printing from initial lab explorations to validation and commercialization
• Lead research that pushes the boundaries of SLS material performance to create next-gen solutions
• Partner with product, hardware, and software teams to iterate on material performance based on customer feedback
• Develop methodologies to evaluate material formulations in coordination with SLS print systems, balancing chemistry, thermal dynamics, and printing parameters

Requirements

• Experience bringing a new material to market from ideation to production
• Solid understanding of the fundamentals of materials science and polymer product development
• Hands-on experience in thermo-plastic engineering
• Ability to design and conduct rigorous experiments to optimize materials using data
• B.S., M.S., or PhD in a relevant science or engineering field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing materials specifically for 3D printing (SLA/DLP or SLS)
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling
• Programming skills such as Python, Matlab, or SQL
