Sleep Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform polysomnography sleep studies (diagnostic and therapeutic) including patient setup, monitoring, and overnight surveillance
• Greet and educate patients, explaining procedures and ensuring completion of necessary questionnaires and documentation
• Titrate CPAP, Bi-level, and oral appliance therapy as required
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical or equipment issues during studies to maintain high-quality data acquisition
• Clean and organize the sleep lab after each study, including proper storage of leads, sensors, and equipment
• Scan and submit technologist observations, questionnaires, and requisitions to administrative staff
• Train and mentor less experienced staff and complete required continuing medical education (CME)

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline (e.g., BSc, Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, or Medical Technology)
• RPsgT certification or actively working toward RPsgT certification
• Current BCLS certification
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 25 pounds
• Ability to use hands and arms effectively to handle and position medical equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• More than 1 year of experience in a sleep lab or similar clinical environment
• Experience with Alice 6 software
