Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs and replacements to damaged or non-functioning university buildings and campus facilities.
• Apply journeyman-level expertise in carpentry, plumbing, or electrical work.
• Plan and execute major installations and routine preventative maintenance for plumbing infrastructure, including water distribution, sewer, drainage, and ventilation systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plumbing infrastructure, fixtures, and related equipment.
• Operate specialized tools including pro-press, pex, soldering, shark bite, and pipe threading equipment.
• Manage hot water distribution systems, including boilers, gas/electric water heaters, and on-demand units.
• Maintain responsibility for tools, materials, and devices used to perform tasks according to accepted practices.
• Work a primary schedule of Tuesday–Saturday, 3:00pm–11:30pm (flexible).

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in journeyman-level trades work (specific coursework may be considered toward this requirement).
• Proficiency in at least three disciplines: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or painting.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, heavy lifting, and climbing ladders or stairs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written reports and utilize a work order system.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet University requirements to operate University vehicles.
