About the role

Responsibilities

  • Plan on-site project activities including resource allocation, equipment needs, and milestones in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Lead all on-site activities from site handover to completion, ensuring successful construction, erection, testing, and commissioning.
  • Serve as the primary project representative on-site, building effective relationships with customers and local stakeholders.
  • Ensure correct handling, storage, and installation of equipment to prevent damage and report logistics updates promptly.
  • Implement and maintain detailed Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) compliant with project health and safety plans.
  • Manage sub-contractors to ensure quality, progress, and adherence to delivery dates and agreed standards.
  • Monitor and control project costs at the site level, tracking actual spend against forecasts.
  • Report regularly to the Project Manager regarding site activities, HSE, quality, progress, and costs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent skills.
  • 5+ years of experience in the construction and/or installation business.
  • Must be Scottish Power authorised.
  • Strong understanding of transmission regulations and current HSE legislation.
  • Proven leadership skills with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Proactive and flexible personality with strong communication skills.
