About the role
Responsibilities
- Ensure project compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety guidelines
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and equipment inspections
- Perform monthly inspections of eye wash stations, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits
- Conduct safety orientations and daily safety briefings
- Investigate accidents and near-misses
- Enforce the contractor's safety program and Accident Prevention Plan compliance
- Stop unsafe acts or processes that are dangerous or unhealthy
- Train workers on special safety issues and conduct emergency drills
- Write and review Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
- Maintain Safety Data Sheets and burn permits
Requirements
- 5 or more years of hands-on construction safety experience as an SSHO
- Completed 40 Hour EM 385-1-1 Course
- Completed 30 Hour OSHA Construction Course
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test
- Proven experience with Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Steel Erection, Excavation, or Cranes may be required
