About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and administer Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) activities on dredging project locations
- Implement the WMI Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and assist in Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) development
- Perform hazard identification, inspections, incident management, and investigations per contractual requirements
- Communicate HSE concerns to all levels of project field and office management daily
- Conduct site-specific HSE indoctrination and other applicable training sessions for project personnel
- Maintain up-to-date records, including incident reports and training documentation
- Learn and become familiar with complex dredging operations, including hydraulic cutterhead, hopper, and clamshell dredging
Requirements
- 5+ years of cumulative construction or general industry related safety experience
- OSHA 30 certification (construction or general industry)
- EM 385-1-1 40-Hour Compliance Course
- CPR/FA/AED responder’s certification
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
- Valid US Passport and Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to work a 17/11 rotational schedule (17 days on, 11 days off) with 12-hour shifts
- Ability to tolerate rough seas, vibrations, and harsh weather conditions
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate various job site terrains

- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Sciences
