Site Reliability Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a world-class SRE engineering team, providing technical guidance and contributing to platform and application code.
• Drive automation for data platforms and infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to enhance productivity and cost optimization.
• Manage incident response and on-call rotations, serving as the primary escalation point for complex production issues.
• Perform deep-dive root cause investigations and implement actionable postmortems to prevent recurrence through infrastructure hardening.
• Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, deploy fixes, and enhance overall system reliability.
• Establish and maintain production readiness standards, including Application Security, Disaster Recovery, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or a related domain.
• 2+ years of direct people-management experience, including hiring and developing engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience supporting and maintaining applications in cloud or hybrid environments.
• Expertise in cloud-native services, ETL frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Flink), and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka).
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure and services such as AWS, GCP, or Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in programming languages including Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise data systems on distributed architectures.
• Exposure to data visualization tools such as Tableau, Business Objects, or ThoughtSpot.
• Experience with modern distributed databases like Snowflake, Cassandra, SingleStore, or SAP HANA.
• Familiarity with using Generative AI or automation tools for issue detection and remediation.
