Site Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, and implement software systems to ensure high availability and scalability in a cloud environment
• Act as a subject matter expert and mentor to junior engineers to improve team effectiveness
• Lead the rapid identification and resolution of system problems to minimize service restoration time
• Plan and execute testing strategies that balance high quality with efficient implementation
• Identify technical risks and dependencies, proposing proactive solutions and mitigation strategies
• Communicate project status, technical requirements, and architectural designs to stakeholders and cross-functional teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (equivalent relevant experience may be considered)
• 6 years of experience in software development, including pioneering new engineering approaches
• Proven experience with web-based applications and web services using Java and REST
• Experience interfacing with databases and integrating third-party products with existing infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience with Cloud-Native Development and porting/refactoring on-site systems to the cloud (preferably AWS)
• Proficiency with IntelliJ/VS Code, JIRA, and Git
• Experience with Agile/Scrum project development methodologies
• Experience with J2EE, Java EE, JavaScript, SQL, and Hibernate/Seam
