Site Reliability Engineer – UNIX

Responsibilities

• Provide global production support for Unix distributed infrastructure within a 24x7 operational group.
• Address incidents identified by monitoring systems and resolve problem tickets using central management tools like ServiceNow.
• Support large-scale projects including storage migrations (NAS), Data Center exits, OS migrations, and estate-wide remediation.
• Maintain production stability and meet established SLAs through regular communication with business partners and support teams.
• Implement service requests via manual and automated ticketing systems.

Requirements

• University degree and 5+ years of experience supporting UNIX-based distributed computing environments (2000+ systems).
• Deep knowledge of Solaris 10/11 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7/8.
• Proficiency in Python or Shell scripting and familiarity with SDLC.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
• Strong understanding of NFS, Networking, and SAN/NAS technologies.
• Knowledge of Veritas Cluster Volume Manager (VxVM) and cluster operations.
• Experience with Cloud/Virtualization technologies, preferably Azure.
• Ability to work in a 24x7 shift rotation, including weekends and night shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the Banking and Finance industries.
• Knowledge of ITIL-based processes and issue/escalation management.
• Familiarity with authentication and naming services (LDAP, Kerberos, DNS, NTP).
• Experience using DevOps tools such as GitLab and Jenkins.
