Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Responsibilities

• Own reliability across Retool Cloud, managed single tenant, BYOC, and self-hosted deployment paths.
• Build automation for infrastructure tasks, including Terraform runs, environment updates, and secret rotations.
• Improve observability systems to turn health signals into clear status and actionable insights.
• Design safer deployment, upgrade, and rollback paths for Cloud and managed customers.
• Partner with product engineers on infrastructure requirements for new products and dependencies.
• Write technical documentation, runbooks, and migration guides to make complex systems understandable.

Requirements

• Deep experience operating production infrastructure in AWS.
• Strong Kubernetes fundamentals.
• Real Terraform or infrastructure-as-code experience.
• Good operational judgment around databases, specifically Postgres.
• Experience building or operating observability systems.
• Programming ability in Go, Python, TypeScript, Java, or Ruby.
• A strong bias toward automation and reducing operational toil.
• Clear written communication skills and comfort working with customer-facing teams.
