Site Reliability Engineer, Sr Staff

Responsibilities

• Own the reliability and availability of on-premises and SaaS systems supporting Synopsys engineering platforms.
• Design, build, and operate observable and self-healing services using OTEL, Elastic stack, and Grafana to reduce MTTD and MTTR.
• Define and maintain SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets to drive platform prioritization and stability.
• Deploy and manage infrastructure on Azure using Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and native services like AKS and Azure Monitor.
• Partner with engineering teams to recommend architectural improvements and reduce operational toil.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in observability tooling and incident resolution, mentoring teams on best practices.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or in a similar platform reliability role.
• Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript, including data structures and design patterns.
• Deep expertise in Azure infrastructure management (AKS, Azure Monitor, Virtual Networks, Azure SQL, Key Vault).
• Hands-on experience with GitHub, Helm, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform in production environments.
• Proven ability to build and maintain observability pipelines using OTEL, Elastic stack, and Grafana.
• Working knowledge of ITIL and Agile processes.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation to support business-critical services.

Preferred Qualifications

• PowerShell programming experience.
• Familiarity with GCP, AWS, or Azure Machine Learning/OpenAI services.
• Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Rootly.
