Site Reliability Engineer/Performance Engineer

Responsibilities

• Investigate and analyze technical issues raised through Engineering Triage using system-level data, metrics, and logs.
• Interpret graphs, measurements, and test results to identify patterns, anomalies, or performance bottlenecks.
• Set up and execute Proofs of Concept (POCs) in controlled environments to validate hypotheses and guide technical decisions.
• Apply Linux and shell-scripting expertise to gather data, run tests, and automate routine analysis.
• Use JVM knowledge to understand system behavior, resource utilization, and the impact of configuration changes.
• Tune and enhance system configurations to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
• Document technical findings clearly and communicate recommendations to developers, support engineers, and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of Linux internals, shell scripting, and system-level diagnostics.
• Foundational JVM knowledge, including memory, threads, and garbage collection basics.
• Experience interpreting logs, metrics, dashboards, and system graphs.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems through research and data synthesis.
• Ability to understand and interpret test results, workload outputs, and benchmark data.
• Demonstrated interest in systems through home labs or personal projects (VMs, clusters, or custom builds).

Preferred Qualifications

• Deeper JDK/JVM tuning or diagnostic experience.
• Knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases.
• Basic Kubernetes setup or cluster experimentation experience.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals and distributed systems concepts.
• Experience with open-source observability or system performance tools.
• Basic programming ability to support automation or tooling improvements.
