Site Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities

• Improve observability, reliability and availability by defining and measuring key metrics
• Build automation and improve systems to eliminate toil and operations work
• Collaborate with core infrastructure team to performance tune and optimize cloud deployments
• Collaborate with product teams to reduce service disruptions and automate incident response
• Proactively find and analyze reliability problems across business units and stack
• Educate, mentor and hold accountable the engineering team to improve reliability culture
• Write high quality, well tested code to meet customer needs
• Debug difficult technical problems and improve system deployability and diagnostics
• Review feature designs for cross-cutting projects and architectural clarity
• Build integrations with 3rd party vendors
• Participate in an on-call support rotation

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in software engineering
• Experience designing, building, scaling and maintaining production services
• Strong technical skills for system design and coding
• Strong skills around observability, debugging and performance tuning
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and dive into any layer of the stack
• On-call availability

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with high throughput and low latency systems
• Experience with Datadog
• Experience with Rust, Go, or Terraform
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Experience working in a highly regulated environment
