Site Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the production environment by driving performance, reliability, and operability through continuous improvement.
• Proactively monitor and troubleshoot large-scale trading systems and exchange connectivity.
• Build and maintain a DevOps toolkit for the production trading system, including configuration management, deployment, and monitoring automation.
• Collaborate across the technology organization to analyze and resolve complex system problems.
• Work closely with traders, Risk Management, and Operational Trading Support teams to manage incidents and coordinate changes.
• Assess and manage operational risk when deploying changes into the production environment.
• Provide mentorship and cross-training to other technical operations SREs.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience in IT operations, DevOps, SRE, Linux Systems Engineering, or Network Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience with Python and shell scripting.
• Strong knowledge of the Linux operating system, including kernel internals, scheduling, and performance tuning.
• Deep understanding of networking concepts such as routing, multicast, LLDP, VLAN tagging, and ethernet.
• Ability to handle shared operational and periodic on-call duties.
• A rigorous, detail-oriented approach to operations with a strong sense of ownership and urgency.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with C++ is helpful but not required.
