About the role
Responsibilities
- Keep user-facing services and production systems reliable, scalable, and efficient
- Build automation and tooling to reduce toil and replace manual work with infrastructure-as-code workflows
- Operate and troubleshoot production systems on Kubernetes, including deployments, rollouts, and scaling
- Write and maintain infrastructure as code, shipping changes safely through CI/CD and GitOps
- Participate in on-call rotations, triage alerts, and improve runbooks
- Contribute to the observability stack using metrics, logs, and SLOs to detect symptoms early
- Participate in incident response and post-incident reviews to drive continuous improvement
Requirements
- Experience operating production systems at scale with an operations and software engineering mindset
- Proficiency with infrastructure as code and the Kubernetes ecosystem
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP or AWS)
- Ability to read, debug, and reason about code, specifically in Go or Ruby
- Experience with observability practices including metrics, logging, alerting, and SLOs/SLIs
- Comfort participating in on-call and incident response under pressure
- Strong written communication skills for working in an asynchronous, distributed environment
