Site Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the reliability, availability, and performance of the production platform
• Define SLOs and build observability to measure against them
• Establish end-to-end incident response practices, including triage and blameless postmortems
• Design and build next-generation infrastructure and deployment systems
• Reduce operational toil through automation
• Work with engineers to improve service operability and instrumentation
• Set operational culture and engineering standards for reliability

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with ability to write code to solve operational problems
• Experience running production systems including containerized services and cloud infrastructure
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code
• Depth in observability and incident response
• Ability to reason about unfamiliar codebases and identify failure modes
• Experience designing for reliability at the architecture level (capacity planning, scaling, failure isolation)
• Comfort owning an ambiguous, greenfield mandate

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as an early or first SRE hire
• Experience scaling systems through stages of rapid growth
• Background in healthcare, regulated industries, or high-stakes reliability environments
