Responsibilities

• Own the digital infrastructure powering research, including third-party compute resources, container registries, and dashboards
• Ensure easy and efficient access to compute resources for researchers
• Provide clear visibility into resource utilization and cluster health
• Enable automatic scaling of compute resources based on demand
• Manage access control to ensure appropriate resource availability
• Drive towards deterministic deployments and reproducible research environments
• Automate operational processes to increase efficiency

Requirements

• Strong systems intuition regarding schedulers, containers, networking, storage, and hardware
• Ability to reason about failure modes and design systems that degrade predictably
• Commitment to observability, reproducibility, and clear operational boundaries
• Pragmatic approach to supporting experimental research workloads
• Accountability for cluster health and capacity management
• Experience with Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, Tailscale, Python, Grafana, Prometheus, or Talos Linux
