Site Process Safety Manager

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve site process safety management systems and standards to prevent major accidents.
• Lead safe process design reviews and facilitate structured risk assessments including HAZOPs and LOPAs.
• Complete Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs) for new or modified processes, equipment, and facilities.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards such as COMAH, ATEX, and IEC 61508/61511.
• Manage EHS input for Management of Change (MOC) processes affecting plant, process, or environment.
• Maintain site emergency response plans and support business continuity planning.
• Design and deliver process safety and EHS training programs for site personnel and contractors.
• Conduct EHS audits and support safety investigations to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related science/EHS discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the process or pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong working knowledge of PSM principles, including HAZOP, LOPA, ATEX, and COMAH.
• Demonstrated experience managing EHS on construction, engineering, or capital projects.
• Proven ability to review and approve risk assessments, MOC, and permit-to-work documentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting aseptic or pharmaceutical manufacturing projects in a GMP environment.
• Familiarity with brownfield project execution and concurrent operations.
• Chartered Engineer status or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CMIOSH).
• Experience supporting major capital projects from design through startup and handover.
