About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform API pressure vessel, piping, and tank inspections
- Document and transmit inspection results and make recommendations for equipment repair, upgrade, or retirement
- Define and approve repairs to fixed equipment per applicable ASME/API standards and Best Practices (RAGAGEPs)
- Audit and evaluate on-site and off-site contract repair organizations
- Develop inspection and test plans for plant equipment per applicable ASNT, ASME/API standards
- Manage inspection data in systems such as Ultrapipe®, PCMS, and SAP/PM
- Maintain inspection and repair documentation, including NDE procedures and welding procedures
- Provide technical support to NDT examiners and support the site welding program
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 3 years of experience in inspection/examination of industrial plant process equipment
- Knowledge of applicable RAGAGEPs including ASME, API, and ASTM
- Knowledge of NDE techniques (VT, UT, PT, MT, RT)
- Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM)
- Ability to wear a full-face respirator and work in permitted confined spaces
- Ability to perform tasks requiring climbing, crawling, and bending
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- API 570 certification (or ability to obtain within one year)
- ASNT certifications in VT, UT, PT, MT, or RT
- Knowledge of advanced NDE technologies such as Phased Array UT, TOFD, or Digital Radiography
