About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of HR/LR professionals across multiple vehicle manufacturing sites in the Lansing Region
- Manage workload, priorities, and deliverables in accordance with laws, collective agreements, and workplace policies
- Partner with People Leaders to drive GM culture and improve employee engagement and inclusion
- Oversee the strategic administration of collective agreements and promote collaborative problem-solving
- Provide guidance on day-to-day issues and serve as an escalation point for complex HR/LR matters
- Partner with key stakeholders and legal departments to ensure regulatory compliance and reduce legal risks
- Support the full employee life cycle from hire to exit, including talent spotting and compensation programs
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience with a focus on Human Resources and Labor Relations
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
- Proven experience managing a team, including performance management and coaching through change
- Extensive experience partnering with stakeholders and unions
- Experience working within a global company environment
- Ability to provide support outside of normal working hours as needed
