About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between Sinclair Community College and the London Correctional Institution (LCI) administration, warden, and educational staff.
- Coordinate the off-campus Advanced Job Training Program to ensure instructional needs and opportunities are met within the facility.
- Orient instructional faculty to the unique requirements of teaching in a correctional setting and working with incarcerated adult learners.
- Oversee support services for students, including placement testing, academic advising, registration, textbooks, and tutoring.
- Supervise the assistant coordinator and manage day-to-day operational activities.
- Ensure strict adherence to all policies and regulations set by LCI, the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC), and Sinclair Community College.
- Manage facilities and equipment related to program delivery, prioritizing security protocols.
- Maintain accurate records and provide timely reports to LCI, SCC, and DRC.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in a correctional, law enforcement, or higher education setting.
- Proven ability to exercise leadership and develop educational programs within a complex correctional environment.
- Working knowledge of the criminal justice system.
- Strong professional communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse constituents, including college faculty, administrators, correctional staff, and inmates.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn college-related databases.
- Ability to pass a DRC background check.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as programming needs arise.
