Site Coordinator, Correctional Education

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations at the assigned correctional facility and act as the primary liaison between facility staff, students, and Ashland University.
• Identify, screen, and recruit students for educational programs in alignment with university and Department of Corrections (DOC) criteria.
• Support student success by assisting with application paperwork, digital submissions, and navigating financial aid processes like FAFSA.
• Provide academic support, including proctoring exams, recording assignments, and ensuring students have access to necessary course materials.
• Manage site inventory, including end-user devices, textbooks, and instructional supplies, and provide accurate inventory reports.
• Organize student extracurricular activities, such as commencement ceremonies and incentive programs.
• Maintain student privacy and records in strict compliance with FERPA and DOC regulations.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree required.
• Proficiency with Learning Management System (LMS) software and MS Office productivity tools.
• Basic computer troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to pass both Department of Corrections (DOC) and Ashland University background checks.
• Ability to be physically present at the correctional facility for at least 80% of the work week.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with faculty, administrators, and incarcerated students.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Previous experience working in correctional education or higher education environments.
