Simulation Specialist

Responsibilities

• Administer lab simulations and conduct interprofessional simulations at the Lakeshore campus
• Oversee the implementation, integration, and maintenance of new technologies, software, and equipment
• Provide technical support for simulation operations, including the repair of computerized manikins and task trainers
• Manage simulation equipment, including troubleshooting AV software and updating mannequin software
• Maintain inventory systems for all supplies and equipment within the simulation center
• Collaborate with simulation educators to develop scenario scripts and technological recommendations
• Prepare simulation rooms and lab areas for daily scheduled educational sessions
• Assist with data collection, data entry, and management of records for research activities
• Provide orientation, tours, and training to simulation educators on equipment and software use

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in a medical, allied health, computer, or technical field
• 1-2 years of previous job-related experience
• Working knowledge of medical simulation technologies and devices (e.g., Laerdal, Gaumand, METI)
• Experience with standard medical equipment such as IV pumps, ventilators, and hospital beds
• Proficiency with PC and Mac-based hardware and software applications
• Knowledge of AV systems
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• 3-5 years of previous job-related experience
• Experience in nursing education simulation
• Medical background such as EMT or Respiratory Therapist (RT)
