Simulation Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test advanced simulation software for spacecraft docking and 6DOF motion subsystem analysis.
• Implement C/C++ and Python components in a Linux environment to support modeling and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) integration.
• Build interfaces and supporting tools for simulations, integration labs, and autonomous behavior prototyping.
• Document simulation architecture, usage instructions, and model assumptions using Confluence and Git.
• Configure and run simulations utilizing automated test frameworks and data-logging pipelines.
• Collaborate within an Agile environment to coordinate with Integrated Product Teams and other engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BS + 6 years or MS + 2 years of related experience).
• 5-10 years of related engineering experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python within a Linux environment.
• Hands-on experience with simulation testing tools and automated testing frameworks.
• Experience working in Agile workflows.
• Demonstrated experience developing or testing high-criticality or safety-critical software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NASA Trick, ROS/ROS2, or NASA Human Space Flight Software frameworks.
• Background in simulation-based autonomy development or highly autonomous systems.
• Familiarity with GitLab, JIRA, Confluence, and QT.
• Knowledge of NASA software engineering and systems development standards.
