Simulation Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot simulation equipment, task trainers, and audiovisual systems
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for simulation devices and laboratory equipment
• Prepare simulation rooms, mannequins, and training materials before academic sessions
• Support faculty during simulation activities, workshops, and clinical competency examinations
• Configure simulation scenarios and assist with the operation of simulation software and control systems
• Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, service history, and inventory levels
• Respond promptly to technical issues and malfunctions during active simulation sessions
• Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs and the installation of new equipment

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Technology, Healthcare Simulation Technology, or a related field
• 2–5 years of experience in simulation labs, biomedical equipment maintenance, or healthcare technical support
• Familiarity with simulation mannequins, audiovisual systems, and clinical training equipment
• Basic knowledge of electronics, troubleshooting, and technical maintenance procedures
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting OSCEs and clinical competency assessments
• Proven ability to manage multiple technical tasks in a fast-paced academic environment
• Strong communication skills for interacting with faculty, staff, and students
