About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, execution, assessment, and improvement of simulation and clinical lab experiences.
- Create a lab environment that replicates real clinical settings to promote active learning and critical thinking.
- Collaborate with the Director of the Center for Clinical Education and Research (CCER) to drive quality enhancement.
- Integrate competency standards into the clinical lab and simulation curriculum.
- Develop, assess, and update the CCER Clinical Policy and Procedures Manual.
- Evaluate students' capacity to perform psychomotor skills safely and accurately.
- Train clinical faculty and teaching assistants in simulation-based education techniques.
- Design self-paced learning modules, unfolding case studies, and skill learning stations.
- Serve as a clinical lab and simulation expert, consulting on the acquisition of clinical supplies and equipment.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or current enrollment in a graduate nursing program.
- At least three years of adult or pediatric acute or critical care nursing experience.
- Current Massachusetts RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
- Ability to obtain status as a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator through the Society for Simulation in Healthcare within 2 years of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience facilitating high-fidelity simulation in nursing practice or education.
- Academic and/or clinical teaching experience.
