Simulation and Optimization Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support infrastructure and flow-related simulations to derive building and yard requirements
• Provide data-driven design inputs and engineering advice through written business narratives
• Create Material Flow Diagrams and optimize building designs, modules, and processes
• Manage and report on weekly project metrics and lead high-profile stakeholder meetings
• Drive year-on-year savings and process improvements by working backwards from "True North" processes
• Collaborate with global teams to ensure operational excellence, safety, and productivity

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any discipline) or a related field
• Experience with complex automated material handling equipment and high-speed manufacturing systems
• Experience with process design based on Lean Principles
• Experience in Capital project management and ownership of engineering design projects
• Knowledge of system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, and statistical analysis
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software
• Proven experience in simulations (e.g., Siemens Plant Simulation X, AnyLogic, or Emulated 3D preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering, simulation engineering for Operations, or a related field
• Experience managing cool chains, refrigeration equipment, and temperature-controlled environments
• Proficiency in additional languages such as French, German, Polish, Arabic, Portuguese, Turkish, Chinese, Afrikaans, or Zulu
