Silicon Power Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform test case execution and debug silicon issues related to correlation and functionality
• Find creative solutions to sophisticated silicon and system-level problems to enable product shipment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, chip designers, and software engineers to craft next-generation product features
• Develop tools and methodologies for post-silicon work to characterize silicon power and correlate behavior with simulation
• Work with design and estimation teams to correlate pre-silicon expectations with actual silicon performance
• Develop power consumption models for use in binning, productization, and customer application notes
• Characterize and develop various power control mechanisms in collaboration with Arch, Design, and SW teams

Requirements

• B. Tech or M. Tech in Electronics Engineering
• 2+ years of related work experience
• Strong understanding of silicon power, performance, and technology node impacts
• Hands-on experience with silicon bring-up, validation, and productization
• Proven hardware debugging and data analysis skills
• Familiarity with HW lab environments and lab equipment
• Proficiency with Windows and exposure to Linux
• Experience with scripting languages such as Perl or Python

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to critical path analysis, power analysis, and process technologies
• Knowledge of transistor/device physics, silicon reliability, and aging mechanisms
• Background in power supply and substrate noise analysis and mitigation
• Exposure to digital design, circuit analysis, computer architecture, BIOS, and drivers
