Signal Technician

Responsibilities

• Handle technical questions from clients and team members while providing field services
• Oversee installation, maintenance, and testing of traffic signal cabinets
• Support field operations for integration projects and optimize system performance
• Configure traffic signal controllers for NEMA, CALTRANS, and ATC cabinets
• Develop strategies for signal timings to manage traffic flow
• Modify traffic signal cabinets according to pre-engineered designs or customer requirements
• Spend approximately 70% of time working in the field in various weather conditions

Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in traffic signal operations
• Experience with repair and maintenance of solid-state electronics and electrical power systems
• Familiarity with programming traffic signal controllers and analyzing signal operations
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic principles applied to traffic equipment
• Practical knowledge of fiber optic network integration
• Ability to interpret design plans for quality assurance
• Knowledge of MUTCD standard traffic control procedures
• Valid driver's license with a good driving history
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• IMSA Traffic Signal Level II certification
• Ability to pass IMSA Traffic Signal Level III certification within 6 months
