About the role

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, develop, and maintain complete software systems and major feature sets for show control.
  • Collaborate with creative, engineering, and project teams to define technical requirements that support creative intent.
  • Integrate hardware and software systems to ensure they operate cooperatively, reliably, and safely.
  • Manage the full software lifecycle, including estimation, scheduling, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Communicate technical risks, tradeoffs, and status updates clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Support project installations, commissioning, and relocations at various project sites.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in industrial automation and/or process control with a focus on software development.
  • Hands-on experience programming PLCs (Beckhoff, Siemens, Rockwell, or similar platforms).
  • Proficiency with IEC 61131-3 programming languages.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and a foundational understanding of control hardware.
  • Experience with modern software development tools and version control (GitHub, GitLab, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related science discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Scientific or real-time programming experience (C, C++, Visual C).
  • Experience with mechanical, mechatronic, or robotics systems governing physical motion.
  • Familiarity with communication technologies such as EtherCAT, ADS, DS-402, Profibus, DMX/sACN, or Python.
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 13849).
  • Experience with industry tools like Visual Studio, RSLogix, MATLAB, ROS, or game engine technology.
