Shot Peen Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor shot peening equipment to treat landing gear and related aerospace components
• Interpret and follow work instructions, technical drawings, and process specifications
• Select and verify appropriate media type, size, intensity, and coverage based on process instructions
• Calibrate and maintain Almen strips, gauges, and other peening verification tools to ensure OEM compliance
• Inspect finished parts to confirm proper coverage, intensity, and adherence to OEM specifications
• Record process data, inspection results, and maintain accurate job documentation
• Adhere to company and regulatory safety requirements, including proper handling of equipment and protective gear
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and cleaning of shot peen equipment and surrounding areas
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Engineering on process deviations or nonconformances

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, process specifications, and work orders
• Knowledge of Almen test strip usage and process verification
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in aerospace shot peening or surface treatment
• Technical or vocational training
• Basic computer skills for documentation and process recording
