Shore Based Engineer - Fabricator Welder/Shipwright

Responsibilities

• Perform fabrication and welding work for scheduled maintenance and rectification of mechanical and metal structures
• Undertake general shipwright repairs to vessel fabric and structures
• Install various equipment including masts, frames, decking, fittings, shafts, and safety equipment
• Plan and execute proactive maintenance to enhance vessel internal and external fabric
• Accurately maintain HELM and associated work orders through to completion
• Conduct fault finding and additional repairs beyond the scheduled maintenance program
• Adhere to SOPs, Marine Memos, operating procedures, and WHS requirements
• Manage stock levels of necessary items to ensure smooth operations

Requirements

• Extensive aluminium fabrication and welding experience, preferably in the marine or boat building industry
• Proven ability to undertake general shipwright and ship repair tasks
• Trade qualifications as a Welder or Boilermaker (highly preferred)
• Experience with marine electrical (12/24V), sewage systems, and plant equipment maintenance
• Open manual Driver's Licence
• HLTAID011 First Aid & CPR certification
• Working at heights certification
• Intermediate computer literacy, including experience with maintenance management software and tablets

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift Licence
• Confined space entry certification
• Experience with high-speed vessels and high-standard presentation requirements
