Shop Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and oil free air compressors
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations
• Use technology including laptops and tablets to manage work orders and track service intervals
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation of all work performed
• Assist in the training of lower level technicians
• Practice safe job practices and adhere to OSHA requirements
• Assist with the pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts

Requirements

• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
• Experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment
• Ability to read and understand schematics
• Experience calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements
• Must own tools applicable to the position
• High School diploma; Trade school certificate preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move, stand, stoop, and bend freely
• Must pass a 10 panel drug screen and background check

Preferred Qualifications

• EPA 608 certification
• Experience in equipment service, maintenance, and repair
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements
